11/11/05: As I was leaving Canon, CO, it looked like we were going to get a spectacular sunrise.
So, I left the Jack In The Box real quick and started looking for higher ground.
I found Skyline Drive, just outside of town...
and a wonderful place to eat breakfast, while the sun came to greet the world.
11/11/05: Depending on how your monitor's brightness is adjusted, you may (or may not)
see Canon in the bottom part of the picture.

11/11/05: I liked the sillouhette that was created on the car, from the sunrise.
I kinda wish I had thought to get on THAT side of the car, before... to have something in the foreground.
11/11/05: So, I was cruising down the road, not too far out of Canon, if I remember correctly...
Is that what I thought I saw?? So, I turn around and go take some pictures.
11/11/05: "Yep! Big horned sheep!" This one seemed to look out for the other 4, younger ones.
11/11/05: I'm not sure where this was... I liked how the sunlight caught the trees
and the dark clouds kind of set-off the scene.
11/11/05: Just a random water / small rapids shot.
I was experimenting with open exposures.
11/11/05: I was heading up towards Waunita Hot Springs, when I saw this creek running next to the road.
There was something about the winding path, the field, the mountains in the background... I just liked it.
11/11/05: While I was stopped taking pictures of the creek, I noticed something odd...
only the plastic parts were gathering dust, on the car. Weird...
11/11/05: I think this was heading up towards White Pine, but I'm not sure.
I forgot to take a picture or otherwise document where the heck this was / what the heck this is.
11/11/05: Along the path to White Pine, I kept seeing dams like this everywhere.
A lot of times, it'd end-up looking like a staircased pond or stream. It was pretty neat.
11/11/05: "I wonder where that road goes?" Well, it wasn't on ANY map I could find, so I didn't go find out.
11/11/05: I had lunch at the top of Blacksage Pass and just took in the surroundings.
At this point, I don't think I've seen another person or another car in probably two hours.
It was nice... a little spooky, but nice.
11/11/05: Another "I wonder where..." road.
That one was just too narrow. No way, no how... not this day.
Maybe if I ever bring a 4-wheeler up here...?
11/11/05: Pretty view.... but storm clouds are moving in.
11/11/05: And I'm pretty sure they're forming where I need to be going.

11/11/05: The shortest path to Pitkin was over Waunita Pass.
It was not the quickest or smoothest, though...
Oh, yeah... Don't get too close to the edge!
11/11/05: Well, at least someone else has cleared the debris from the road...
11/11/05: I'm really glad someone moved THAT big rock for me...
Now if they could just smooth-out the road.
Maybe I shouldn't be doing this, in this car... Hrmmmmm.... (a seed is planted)

11/11/05: FINALLY at Quartz Creek Cabins!
I beat the bad weather, but just barely.
I was still unloading when the sleet started.
