05/19/05: Heading towards Bryce Canyon National Park, UT

05/19/05: I thought this was kind of cool.
I originally pulled off to take pictures of a flooded creek.
This turned out to be one of the best pics of this stop.

05/19/05: Not too far from Bryce Canyon.
I saw a dirt road and got curious where it went...

05/19/05: This probably doesn't seem like a big deal, with the water.
With the flooding that was going on in Utah at the time, I was a little concerned about "what if it rises, after I cross??"
The rock formation was pretty cool, too. :)

05/19/05: Still just exploring, near Bryce.

05/19/05: Still along that same dirt road.

05/19/05: I can't remember if this was inside the park or not.
It reminded me of a spyre, twisting towards the sky.

05/19/05: I'm pretty sure this was in the park or very near it.

05/19/05: This one reminded me of a snowman.

05/19/05: "Definitely" in Bryce Canyon.

05/19/05: Beautiful...!

05/19/05: Next to where I took the previos two pictures was an information stand.
"Before there were any Indians, the Legend People, To-when-an-ung-wa, lived in that place.
There were many of them. They were of many kinds - birds, animals, lizards, and such things -
but they looked like people... For some reason, the Legend People in that place were bad.
Because they were bad, Coyote turned them all into rocks. You can see them in that place now;
all turned into rocks; some standing in rows, some sitting down, some holding on to others.
You can see their faces, with paint on them just as they were before they became rocks."
- Patute Indian Legend

05/19/05: I thought this was an interesting perspective... Through the peep-hole or key-hole.

05/19/05: As I looked closer, I noticed that one lone tree, just on the other side of the archway.

05/19/05: A snowman!

05/19/05: I really liked the contrasts in this one. The oranges, whites, and blues...

05/19/05: Another nice one, of contrasting colors.. including the snow!

05/19/05: This guy just wouldn't shutup, so I took his picture.

05/19/05: I had left the park, by this point and was heading towards Arches National Park. You can see some arches starting to form here.

05/19/05: Nice colors... except for the smoke, in the background!

05/19/05: Just driving along, trying to get closer to the fire.

05/19/05: The mixture of colors is spectacular, to me... the whites, the reds, the greens, etc..

05/19/05: I can't remember if there was a sign for this or not. To me, looking at it 2 yrs later,
it reminds me of an Indian chief, with full head-dress on, chest out, and his head looking towards the sky.

05/19/05: Well, this doesn't look good at all!

05/19/05: Oh, they're WANTING to do that... ok...!

05/19/05: I saw this and I wanted to try to "make" something of it.

05/19/05: About the best I could come up with was the moon being in the clutches of the tree's extended branches.

05/19/05: A reminder of home... :)
